The Gold Rod in Toontown Rewritten

The 5 rods

A rod does two separate things. The obvious one is the weight limit: a fish heavier than the rod's maximum cannot be landed at all. The less obvious one is that a better rod bends the rarity roll toward higher rarities on every cast — which is why upgrading changes your odds even at a pond where you could already reach everything in it.

Cost per cast matters more than it looks. The Gold Rod costs 5 beans a cast against the Twig Rod's 1, so a rare fish that takes a thousand casts is a real jellybean bill either way — the tracker works out which pond makes that bill smallest for the fish you personally still need.

Track your rod on your own toon

The tracker reads your caught list straight out of the game and ranks every pond by the chance your next cast lands a species you have never caught. These pages are the reference; the tracker is the part that knows what you personally still need.
